I'd rather use standard unleaded than Optimax or Vortex. I think the ZX7R has something against additives.

I run a Pilot Road rear and a Pilot Sport front. I like the hard compound on the rear so it doesn't square off too much from commuting, but i wouldn't put one on the front.

I'll be going Pilot Power on the steering end next.

I find that brake pads make a bit of difference, and once you find something you like, stick to it.

All pads are sintered to some degree (to avoid low friction issues when wet), but the degree varies with rating. Currently i'm using EBC HH pads, have used them on a couple of bikes and i like them ...

I reckon they're a good idea if you're planning on going that hard. Easier and quicker to pick up what's going on without having to read the tacho.

Sounds like you've got a bit too much preload (or too stiff a spring) and too little damping.

Sounds like they're the upper engine mounts...which is where crash knobs go if you mount them.

I usually run 36 front and rear as a baseline, and then alter to suit from there.
