Oh thanks Neka, I knew I forgot something when I clicked "post".

Kelly and NSW riders et al, i'm still puzzled why you guys ride a 250 when LAMS are available, this also applies to SA now as they recently had LAMS approval.

LAMS is power to weight; generally you're gunna get the same ride regardless. More torque maybe, and some bigger bikes so more comfort ...

ZXR 900 R Update... Dammit :(

Quick update, been very busy.
Got my "ZXR 900 R" on the road in what I considered a very close to finished state last Friday, had some hassles with my 7 carbs so I got a set of 9 ones and went veeery nicely.
Test ride on Saturday morning went great, on the way home, giving it a bit of wrist I ...

Well I the 900 engine roared into life tonight around 8pm!!
Stumbled for a half a minute and then held a steady idle.
Now I can hit the starter at any time and it jumps instantly to steady idle!!

Pretty astonishing since it ...

Well done mate. let me know what your engineer is like. don't know about you, but i'm very nervous about all that. We'll definately have to meet up for a ride once our zxr's are complete. you never know they might hit it off and mount eachother KAWI style and make lots of little zxr's. Keep us ...

With new clipons (had raised bars when I got it )

hey, what kind of raised bars were they? raised clipons or MX/flat bars?

Thanks...

They're Z-bent clipon bars. So they use the standard clipon brackets and bend two 90 degrees so they're up about 5 or 6 cm higher.
They're not really ...

Awsome man, and yes a turbo would rock!

Do you mind if I ask how much it was?

Thanks guys, $2200 for the engine.
TAS has marginally lower prices than most things, shipping to Sydney would normaly have been around $300.

Quotes from 'mainland' Aus were $2500-$2900, dunno what Josh payed for ...

Maybe this is the Darwin effect in process. He didn't have the skills to survive in the situation he put himself in, and his mother failed to protect her offspring - sad, but nature is often cruel

Exactly what I was gunna post... the dude probably would've died somehow.

Strika is that a braided line from the rear brake reservoir to the master cylinder? Or is it a weirdly-in-focus remote shock canister or something?

Maybe some interest in the aftermarket exhaust market from the big guys...?
Make a bike with a crap exhaust, trademark some kinda of fitment, market the design to aftermarket manufacturers... scored.
