Tough pistons.

Post by jpbikeboy »

I'm impressed! I stripped the zxr750 motor i have. These pistons have done about 80,000km's and i've been running up to 18psi boost and they are still in good shape. They are the standard cast pistons that i was told would melt as soon as they saw boost. They saw all sorts of abuse including a couple of big lean outs while on boost due to a shit fuel pump. It goes to show how over engineered these things are.

Good to hear man. I would love to do a turbo thing one day, but the whole carb/injection thing is the big drawback.

My one clearly wasn't . J/k, they're tough 'ol engines that's for sure.
ZXR"900" - In pieces... again.
Another engine gone but at least the purple and pink are still there, oh yeah.
