Re: My P's are approaching .... I have a question !

I did my Ps a about a month ago and each headcheck you miss you accumulate 3 points. So if you miss 3 headchecks that's 9 points which is a fail and the instructor is not allowed to point out what you've done wrong until the end when they say "The test is complete, pass/fail" etc. More accurately ...

Re: My P's are approaching .... I have a question !

Thx for all the ideas, looks like it is going to be best to rent a bike, save me lapsing on my L's if I fail the P's due to lack of turning circle !

I can do slow and tight riding on the ZXR, due to filtering through Sydney traffic, but if I fail due to crossing lines etc, then I would have to do ...

Re: My P's are approaching .... I have a question !

I did the MOST Ps test on my GPX250. It was a piece of cake. I am not sure if it will be much harder on a ZX2R.

I am not sure if this is good advice, but ride the clutch. You can do all the low speed obstacles with ease if you play with the clutch.

Re: Busted and ......

Court fee is $70 so the only reason you would take it to court is to fight the points. If you have more then 3 points then maybe you should consider just paying the fine (however, if you choose to pay the fine, it is an admission of guilt).

I got done earlier in the year for running a red ...

Replacing frame GPx250 - Need advice on how to disassemble and reassemble the bike.

I purchased a second hand GPx250 earlier in the year. Mechanically, she runs very well for her age (1987 or '88 GPx250 import from Japan. Model with dual front disc break) since the previous owner rebuilt the engine ...

Re: GPX250 clutch lever rattle

http://faq.ninja250.org/wiki/My_clutch_lever_rattles_when_I_rev_the_engine" target="_blank.

It is common for the clutch lever to rattle when the engine is running at mid to high RPMs. It doesn't hurt anything, but it can be annoying. You can make shims from a soda bottle or margarine tub lid and ...

Re: Terrifying bike crash (no gore - worksafe)

The rider with the camera is a bloody dickhead riding well over their limit (I hope Neka is wrong about the other rider dying).

I am a P-Plater so I have plenty to learn (I am reading bike safety sites and Twist of the Wrist vol. 2, god I love bikes). Why did they overtake a car before a turn in ...

Re: Gear lever wobbles on my GPX250

I thought I would reply to the cause and solution of this problem.

The foot peg bracket on a GPX250 is screwed onto the body of the bike with 2 screws (the third screw only attaches the gear lever to foot peg bracket).

The 2 threads that the foot peg bracket screws into the body of the bike came ...

On the GPX250, the idle knob is on the LHS of the bike near the fuel tap. Here is a link for the GPX250:http://faq.ninja250.org/wiki/What_is_the_engine_idle_speed%3F_How_do_I_adjust_it%3F

If you have the knob completely off, doesn't it make the bike idle at an insanely high rev? (or is it the ...

I am a L plater and I have been riding since march this year (hopefully, soon to be P plater). I get asked this a few times, especially since I have been riding to/from work in the rain (a.k.a storm) in Sydney lately. Last night wasn't bad but last week when the weather was really bad, I was ...

I hate to put a damper on your banter, but it redlines at 14k. :P I have a 1988 manufactured GPX (1995 complianced) with an engine rebuild earlier this year. Mine redlines at 15.5 but Kawasaki has gradually limited the redline over the years since they found that the engine wasn't getting ...

In the service manual, it says the idle should be 1300 rpm +/- 100 so it should be around 1200-1400. The idle adjust knob is on the left side of the bike around the top area i.e. http://faq.ninja250.org/wiki/What_is_the_engine_idle_speed%3F_How_do_I_adjust_it%3F

Basically, I wait until the end of a ...

Thanks for the replies Rossi.

Unfortunately, it was a private sale. Other than the problems I have mentioned, the bike isn't too bad.

How much do you think it will cost to fix the gear lever?

"Dodgey" fan switch on my GPX250

My bike has a switch to manually turn on the fans which is electric taped to the handle bars (above key barrel). It isn't really a issue if I remember to switch it on when I go for a ride and off when I park. However, I have learned the hard way in both situations i.e. bike was overheating after ...

Gear lever wobbles on my GPX250

As the title suggest, my gear lever on my left foot wobbles left and right when I change gears. I can also easily move it left and right with my hand. Shift down gears, the lever will go into normal position but when I shift up gears the back of the lever will go in.

I have tried using a allan key ...
