On line purchasing caution!

Post by Tack »

I have just received a quick release fuel tank cap that has taken aprox 10 weeks to get!

I ordered this cap thru an Australian company, on their web site and, probably stupidly, thought that they would give timely service.

I've have rang them once a week and followed this caps progress from manufacture, to shipping in Germany, to landing on the dock, to clearing customs, to being in their ware house to...."ohh you wanted a blue one...unfortunately they sent a black one....but we have a blue one in stock so we'll send that out"....to "yeah I saw that on my deck, should go out this week"...to "yeah it was sent".

You know, not once did they say..."sorry for the delay". In fact I don't reckon they even care.

Probably the smart people here would not order something online. All I can say is that I have had such a good run ordering stuff cheaply and getting it promptly that I thought it was all good. But now....NOW....I want to kill.....I would love to name this bullshit company however I'm not sure if it has any legal ramifications for this site or me....bastards...pack of dirty rotten stinkin pig dogs

Never bought online from an Aussie coy but my experiences with the yanks is exactly 180 degrees to yours.
I order, they confirm via email, they confirm shipping details via email (they express concern that I had gone for sea freight instead of air and at pains to advise that it may take 6 weeks), it turns up in 3 weeks.
Then another email to ask if all was well and to thank me for using them.
I am bloody impressed. Used them about 5 times now and always the same.
The Yanks sh1t on us for customer service.
Just one more law and everyone will be safe.

I have only bought a few things online.... my leather jacket being the worst experience.... it took about 8 weeks to arrive and when it did it was WAY OFF being the right size... I sent it back and it took another 8 weeks for the replacement to arrive.... Luckily this was the right size... It wasnt really the aussie companies fault but their supplier... It sucks... but these things happen I guess.... Luckily I got a good result... it could have worked out much worse.
The world is round. It has no point.

If you use EBay check out the sellers rating and feedback, for online stores it can be the luck of the gods but most are OK. With overseas orders I got stung recently. Big order went through their website OK came to a good price with Aus postage address. Heard nothing for a week, payment went through on card after 7 days then nothing. E-mailed them and got a swift reply telling me their system hadn't calculated the postage correctly and they wanted another $240 postage. I told them to cancel the order.

All internet purchases Aust & O/seas based. Neva had a prob.
Always buy from reputable sellers & chances of problem purchases
are reduced

Wow! You bought 2 back packs from over the internet!

I have bought quite a few things also over the net and had no trouble however from now on I will be making enquiries first before I order anything.

I was wondering if people might post the links to sites that they have ordered stuff off and they have been good to deal with? :)

I have been told that 58cycle in the USA are barstards to deal with, It put me off buying a few things from them even though they were cheaper than anyone else. They did however become very pushy when I was getting my order together and saved it untill I was ready and ended up cancelling and they still sent email asking when I was going to pay
The rumours I heard were from many so I have to beleive it. :?
