CLEANING CARBYS

Hi Guys,

How hard is it to clean the carbys??
Or should i just take them into someone to do them??
I can take them off and just give to who ever....
How much would i get charged?
Whats ppls thoughts??

its not overly hard

have a google , there is plenty of info with pics around

pay attention and be methodical and make sure you put everything back in the same places they came from

things to note are the amount of turns for the mixture screws , screw them in lightly counting how many turns before taking them out

cans of carb cleanerand air compressors are useful

clean all jets and make sure the holes are clear
guitar strings or a welding tip cleaning tool is very useful for blocked jots , just be careful with the holes

i think you will do a better job than taking it somewhere

if they are really bad you can take them and have them ultrsonically cleaned but you have to be careful of
the solvents they use

It's not a difficult job; just be careful not to get the carb cleaning spray onto any rubber parts!
If you're going to completely strip them then clean them, get yourself 4 plastic boxes, mark them 1 to 4 and strip each carb into a box individually. Might be overkill but gives you a bit of reassurance everything is where it should be!
