CLEANING CARBYS
Re: CLEANING CARBYS
its not overly hard
have a google , there is plenty of info with pics around
pay attention and be methodical and make sure you put everything back in the same places they came from
things to note are the amount of turns for the mixture screws , screw them in lightly counting how many turns before taking them out
cans of carb cleanerand air compressors are useful
clean all jets and make sure the holes are clear
guitar strings or a welding tip cleaning tool is very useful for blocked jots , just be careful with the holes
i think you will do a better job than taking it somewhere
if they are really bad you can take them and have them ultrsonically cleaned but you have to be careful of
the solvents they use

Re: CLEANING CARBYS
It's not a difficult job; just be careful not to get the carb cleaning spray onto any rubber parts!
If you're going to completely strip them then clean them, get yourself 4 plastic boxes, mark them 1 to 4 and strip each carb into a box individually. Might be overkill but gives you a bit of reassurance everything is where it should be!
