My first bike was a GPX250. I loved it. It was comfortable, solid and got me around at a decent pace for a Learner.

I did my MOST test on it and passed without any errors. I found it an excellent first bike :)

Great bike to learn on. Big fuel tank and reasonably comfy means you can tour on it. Handle OK enough to have some fun in the tight twisties. You might even clean up some bigger bikes in the tight stuff when you master it! :D

Consider this; They started making them in 1988 and they're still making them. TWENTY years of production's gotta say something, hey?

Yep, I had one they are a great bike to learn on alright. The fuel tank isn't that large, but you get 90mpg on the fuel that's in it (approx 30km/litre).

...and that seat has TEETH after about an hour in the saddle. An all-dayer will leave you with a walk like Gene Autry. :?

[The fuel tank isn't that large
GPX tanks at 18 litres should be good for over 400km touring. Compare it to some bikes I have and that aren't as economical on fuel- Bros 12L, CB400 17L, Z440 14L, Spada 250 12L, GN250 10.5L, 535 Virago 12L, etc :(

Hi, I am on my L's and bought my GPX approx 5 weeks ago. I have ridden < 200km due to weather, work and a dodgy battery but now fixed. I also purchased on recommendation but can't make any judgements at this stage except it is very economical and sounds throaty and fun to ride. I was also considering Yamaha 250 Zeals.
Anyway time will tell.

Good luck on your GPX.

ps. mine is a bright yellow 2001 model.
