The first units we bought worked well for a while, but one of them (mine) developed a small intermittent glitch. We sent it back and it was replaced, no questions asked. The next 18 months has seen faultless operation by both units until Leanne lost the Bluetooth module off the side of her helmet on the way to work one morning (due to not putting it on correctly). It bounced down the road and up someone's driveway, stopping under their car. After finding it and expecting the worst, she snapped it back on and it worked perfectly. Turns out they are tough little buggers after all.
The whole time of owning it, my unit has had one bent pin where the contact is made between it and the part that attaches to the helmet. It didn't effect the way it worked, so I have never done anything about it. Last weekend we happened to talk to Steve from Mr Mobile at the Motorcycle Show and I mentioned how they have been great and how mine had a bent pin but still worked fine. He told me to send it up to him anyway, as it should be fixed under their two year warranty. So, we sent the unit up to them on Tuesday and I received an email on Thursday telling me it was going to be replaced with a brand new one and it turned up today! Talk about great service.
If anyone is considering getting a Bluetooth unit to hook up to their phone so they can take calls, listen to music without any wires hanging out of your helmet or to be able to talk to others you are riding with, we can't fault the Sena ones as they have been great. It has been a pleasant surprise buying these units and receiving the great after sales service, especially in this day and age where profits are usually a higher priority than service. Well done to Mr Mobile (http://www.mrmobile.net.au/) and to Sena for impressing a cynical old bastard.
