I wonder if a 12R motor would fit into a ZRX chassis ??? :partyman:
There are a few tidy looking busa engined rex's getting round, so I can't see any reason a 12r motor couldn't be 'made to fit'.

ZZR1200 engines drop straight in when you put a ZRX head on it. Mind you, they are getting 180HP out of the ZRX engines with the high comp 1224 kits with Yosh grind cams. I so want to do that to mine.

Turbo kits are around $3.5k US which is pretty cheap horsepower. I've been tempted. :D
2 X ZRX1200R 4 X ER6N, GT550, 1988 ZX-10, 4 X GPZ250R, 4 X GPZ900R and GPZ750R :) Yeah I like Kawasakis.

I reckon anything over 200hp would be almost unrideable on a short wheelbase bike like the ZRX. Easy enough to wheelie as it is.

Its one of those projects i never got around to doing... been a few over the years.. it would have been fun tho :)
Sort of finished a couple tho, the ELR was a nice jigger... the turbo Z from yesteryear was another..
As was 76 Z650 taken out to 874 and the cost of a house back then spent on that one.
And the 76 Z drag bike from the early 80's.. that still carried QLD rego   no RWC back then and yer it had a couple of runs on the road got pulled over on that.... how do u explain wheelie bars the the cops???? that was a fun story........................

And the current 10, that is work in progress, the goal with that is to chase 205HP at the rear wheel... just for the fun of it.... deano says its not a problem. just want to play with that, before i get to old to remember it

If I do anything to mine it will be a futher upgrade of the chassis ;) , I've already got enough HP to get into far to much trouble.........

That is until I ride Nelso's 1224 Turbo, then I'll want one

Pinchy you should get a book called Power Without Glory, one of the best reads I had back in the day.

Back on track - yeh Nelso you are right, a good - worked - ZZR1200 can pump out much the same hp as a stocker 12R, so there is probably not much point in arsing about with an engine swap......(btw they are selling ZZR1100 heads on US ebay for as low as $200 complete - one of those should go nicely on the 1000RX !! )
