i agree that we need alternative power production and manufacture, and i think that will happen with shale gas. and thats def a separate issue.Naked Twin wrote: No it won't as the polluters just simply pass on the price, yes we might look to consume less, but as there are not as yet credible alternatives we are not changing how we produce power or manufacture which is the problem to more environmentally friendly alternatives. but how can the volumes being manufactured not be at least equally as responsible for emissions blah blah blah of how we produced power/manufactured those volumes?
eg. carbon tax makes the latest iGadget cost more to get on the shelf, RRP rises, less joe public can afford to buy one. units sold will decrease. following production runs would be less?
