Fuel efficiency...
Re: Fuel efficiency...
I get over 300klms out of a tank if I let it go into reserve.
I haven't really taken much notice of how many litres it takes to fill her up though.

Tank is 20 ish i think maybe 22L (when its thursty or petrol station pump lies to me)
Best i got was when it was stock as a rock
300kms till reserve then extra 12kms till i got to servo Back in the days when premium was less than $20 a tank
Nowadays
220kms of street
Bit more on high way 250-270 depending on speeds and traffic
And a lot less in the mountain
Also have a 98 Ktm 380exc 2-stroke TARD!!!
It guzzels the fuel
think it is 8-9litre tank
60:1 oil mix oil is 30 bucks a bottle
Gets about 40 - 50kms a tank but it really is a silly bike
never really taken it on highway gets from samford petrol station up to mt neebo to the mobile at the bottem in waterworks road (not sure the street) with maybe half a tank left Its pretty funny leaning the bike up and walking in paying 3 bucks

A fair bit not much on paper but definitely a big difference when riding being a twin and all more usable torque and a much larger punch at 8k rpm not all top end...Amir wrote:How grunty is the 848??? compared to a zx6r or any other 600??zxsixr03 wrote:2006 ZX6R

Jealousy is a curse mate...lol
You have roughly a extra 10lb-ft torque but how often can you use it?
848 is a 4 valve L twin as they say...

Re: Fuel efficiency...
hi folks - i have been recently getting some really shitty fuel economy.. eg 166kms suburbia riding before the fuel lights start going off...
is this an symptom of something wrong with the bike by chance?

Re: Fuel efficiency...
Funny this should be mentioned now. I was thinking not so long ago that I was getting pretty lousy fuel ecconomy from the car (haven't been able to ride the bike lately so can't say if it's the same). I usually use BP Ultimate and get around 630km from a tank, lately I've only been getting about 550 - 570 if I'm lucky. Makes you wonder if they're doing something to the fuel

Most motorcycle problems are caused by the nut that connects the handlebars to the saddle.

Re: Fuel efficiency...
'03 600RR, used to get around 240km/tank city/hwy
'06 R6 1 tank p/track day, almost exactly.
'09 ZX6R a lot more than a tank to do a CSS as I made sure to prove. Had a full tank, added maybe another 3-5L during the day and still ran dry on the 2nd lap of the last drill.

Unless your 1993 ZZR600 was a piece of crap with a fucked motor, there is no way that the FZR600 is a quicker bike!! The ZZR600 had 90hp, the FZR had 70hp! Plus, the ZZR600, had one of the gruntiest 600 motors of the day. In actual fact, Gavin Cosway could get more power out of a tuned ZZR600 motor, than he could from a tuned ZX6R motor!!!! Bayliss' original bike that Cosway built for him, was a ZZR600 and it was pulling 110 at the wheel, with a reliable 16,000rpm rev ceiling!!!!!!!!

19l tank
my fuel light comes on at half tank for some reason but i am getting 260kms+ for city riding
have not had it long enough to take it for a ride down the great ocean road yet but that will be interesting to see when i have a full tank.

Ride safe and stay upright - Cheers Scott
