Victorian Car Drivers Are Worlds Worst!

On a positive note.

I lived up FNQ for 3 years. 04 - 07, 2 years in Townsville, 1 in Cairns. I do not recall 1 bad driver in Townsville, unbelievable but true.... meantime I do recall that a few motorcyclists I saw were somewhat unskilled, wobbling around the place and awkward, and thought, If these blokes went down to Victoria they would be mangled bits of meat in no time. Ive just had an epiphany. The bulk of Victorian motorcyclist are pretty good....Reason being, the unskilled are quickly culled. The unskilled in Townsville live to ride another day as most of the drivers up there are skilled and considerate. Plenty of great Cars too. Pulled into the Vincent servo to have the pleasure of seeing a genuine E49 Charger that looked like it had just rolled out of the showroom. They do a "Hillclimb" competition up mount Elliot every year. Many daily drivers do the competition, the cars are well prepared.

In Cairns there was only one deadsh1t driver syndrome for the whole year. A c0ckhead in a little Suzuki 4WD swerved toward me while I was splitting lanes on my way to "school". Otherwise not one problem.

Perth has been pretty good so far to me. What i cant standv is there lack of being able to merge on the highways when theres an on ramp. Its not really a hard concept move right let the on comers come into the left hand lane then fall back into the left hand lane.
and another classic is they dont know what keep left unless overtaking means! every time i'm on a dual lane road they always sit next to each other so you cant overtake.
but in the way of nearly being hit by cars i've had very few close calls.

I don't know about other locations, but as far as Melbourne goes taxis are the most fuctarded, followed by couriers and ..... police.... no sh!t. Just after xmas I very nearly got cleaned up by a cop car on the Kings way overpass heading to Albert Park, they had their lights on and I saw them coming (at about 70ks), the left lane was packed (being 6pm on a weeknight) so I shared with the prius next to me. I was maybe 2 secs and 40cm from being a statistic.... Then when I got underneath the westgate, I saw them park in front of Hungry Jacks at the United servo.... didn't hear about any armed robberies or anything that night, so I can only assume they were in dire need of some angry onions.... fkrs

Sweeeeeeet,
If it wasnt for the dollar value I'd prefere an E49 Charger than a XY GTHO. My preferance is no doubt biased by fond memories of my tyre liquifying Charger.

Merge; enough gap...at a speed to fit in with the flow of the traffic (actually almost word for word from one of the DKT/RKT questions from the RTA)

Haven't riden for very long but have at least driven for over 10 years and have driven in NSW ACT WA SA QLD and even Ohio, Indiana, California, Arizona, Michigan, Pennsylvannia, Maryland DC, NY State (not NYC - don't be crazy), Kentucky, Ontario and the worst....
Chicago Illinois! (Whilst in a taxi - was going for a drink - no seat belt available , driving somewhat negligently - another taxi we went past at an intersection had crashed with a neck brace on the client in the back . Thankfully after that he slowed down ...

Mate I've lived in Perth, Adelaide Melb and Sydney, god help me driving/riding in Sydney BUT nothing takes the cake for F@#$*d drivers than Queensland. Brisvegas is interesting but you want to go out west where the f^%$##ng cowboys are. Now thats interesting..................and so are they if you have a doctorate it stupid~!!!!!!!

I sat scared $%#$% as a passenger while all cars on the gold coast to bris freeway were bumper to bumper... doing 100+ .... and it was raining and could only see the tail lights.

Sydney drivers scare me the most, they sit within an inch of your rear bumper and jump into seemingly impossible gaps.
No point when I cruise up to the red light next to them after they have done many Schumacher manoeuvre's to get there first and it is mostly men that do it

Brissy do 10kmph over everywhere, but they are more bike aware on the whole.
Melb nearly as mad as Syd but arrogant and do 5kmph over and will cut you off as you lane split.
Adelaide, dont know how to speed and they dont because the cops have beaten them into submission so they just dont, but they never use mirrors.
canberra. not enough cars to worry about.

But really all states on the east coast are the same in regards to ignorance and false sense of security whilst in their tintops, there are equally good and bad everywhere, more defensive driving courses needed to gain a licence and mandatory retesting for everyone as laws change and drivers dont know about them. Have mobile blocking fitted to cars like hospitals have.
Insurance co's should have big discounts for defensive driver training courses completed.
Teach people how to merge onto a free-way ffs, not bloody hard, look in your side mirror and over your shoulder instead of stopping at the bloody merge line, I hate to say it but old people and women are the worst at this.

Saying that most people are obliging and courteous especially out of the capital cities.

I feel severe repercussions for this, perhaps shouldn't get on here so late however whilst driving the work vehicle this morning I had a rider NOT perform a head check and therefore forced me to brake harder than what would have been necessary (came in to my lane), i was peeved at him as a general motorist but also as a fellow rider that he was not looking after himself and others although in saying this it did make make me realise how important (as a newbie) head check definitely are!!! (and it could have been a simple case of human error too??)
