Just a bit of an update.

On my last trip to Brisbane i dropped in to Mick's tyres on the northside. I had a look at both the Pilot Pures (I think) and the Continental SportAttacks. Had a long descussion with Mick and eventually settled on a set of the Continentals. I was quite surprised with the lack of carcass strength of the Michelin tyre. I gave the tyres a quick 350Km scrubb in to try and get them ready for a bit of spirited ridding. I must say that I am thoroughly pleased with my selection. The SportAttacks seem to warm up very quickly and offer a real solid connection with the road. I have to admit that I am by no means a fast rider but I suspect these tyres would continue to offer great grip.

I also picked up a tip from Mick. I was finding the bike to be real heavy at turn in. Mick had the idea to push the forks up through the trees by 3mm. I did this before changing the tyres and it instantly made a huge change. Now the bike is a lot sharper on turn in but doesn't seem to have affect high speed stability. Adding a 55 profile (previous was a 50) tyre has just improved the ridability of the bike no end.

I would like to do a track day with the bike soon just so I can push the bike a little harder without the worry of other traffic comming the other way. I won't be chasing any lap records (looking at buying a zx7 or zx6 636) but stretching her legs should be a lot of fun.
