after a one hour ride, the headers changed to a shiny brown fairly quick. but yea, it was surprisingly loud - sounds awesome. i was going to stick the silencer in but thought the noise will only alert drivers to my presence on the road. fitting took some fiddling, had to split the pipes about 15mm apart before the flanges line up.

with just the exhaust, it got rid of a flat spot from 3.5-7500rpm. with the jetting kit as well there was a slight gain throughout the whole rpm range. also, with the jetting kit, the idle was smooth as.

regarding the bit about stripping the whole bike, well, it was the only way i could get the carby out. if someone can show me another way, it'd be great (i'm such a n00b).

in case anyone wants to know, dynojet supply 94 to 100 thou jets with their stage 2 and recommend using the 98 thou with exhaust+intake mods. however, on closer inspection, the oz-delivered 250r already comes with the same size jets. you need to use the 100 thou to get any difference. incidentally, the plug mentioned in the instructions that covers the adjustment screw is not present on the oz-delivered - bonus!

When I saw your post my first though was: with the money you spent on the bits you could have upgraded to a bigger bike. You've done well fitting it all on yourself and I hope it makes riding the little beastie far more enjoyable.

When I saw your post my first though was: with the money you spent on the bits you could have upgraded to a bigger bike. You've done well fitting it all on yourself and I hope it makes riding the little beastie far more enjoyable.

lol... actually, with the current exchange rate, the parts didn't cost that much! hehehe..

honestly, the thing i got out of it most was really the experience - i love tinkering. don't need anything more to enjoy riding.. except maybe a bigger bike.
