My personal opinion is that Kawasaki aren't genuinely interested in motorcycles or racing. KHI is so huge that motorcyes are a mere drop in the ocean. It's a shame because Kawasaki fans are the most passionate of the lot. As for racing, there is so much development to be done in chassis and electronics and suspension that you need to spend lots of money and energy into getting everything right. At the 2008 Sydney m/c expo, Kawasaki couldn't even provide up to date brochures of new model year bikes... That shows you their lack of interest.
