LED Tail light and Indicators...!!

Hi all... I am wondering if anyone has installed LED tail lights and indicators on thier bikes.. and if they have had any trouble with the flash rate etc..??

I have replaced the rear tail light of my 08 ZX10 with an intergrated one.. looks fantastic and is very bright.. works well..

I have also removed the ugly indicators that are hanging off the mirror stalks.. as well as replacing the mirrors for a set of 09 ZX6 mirrors.. much more streamlined.. and I have relocated my indicators to the parkers position..

I did grab a couple of 5 watt replacement push in blade type Amber bulbs.. and they work.. but are too weak.. also the flash rate has changed.. too fast now.. !!

I was advised to go to a newer style LED amber globe for the front which is supposed to be much brighter than the standard globe.. I still will need to change the relay so the flash rate is normal.. but has anyone done this..??

I assume the LED's are brighter..?? anyone got any info on these bulbs.. or has done a similar mod..??

I changed the parkers on my bug to LED's and they are brighter.

As for the relay I had to install the higher grade resistors to the rear blinkers to slow down the flash rate and have never had a drama since.

How do you know what type of resistors to install..??? and where do you put them..??

I bought mine from ebay.

Just got the standard ones that was available from the supplier that I purchased the indicators from.

Just go & get an electronic flasher relay from Repco or Supercheap auto

The two-pin Narva one is about $16 and should plug straight in to your harness. Easy as pie.

I have decided to get a proper LED relay flasher unit as I am also replacing the front parker / indicator globes with LED's (6 LED's in each one).. so I will have an LED tail light / indicators integrated as well as LED front indicators.. should be nice and bright and flash at the correct rate.. Will be getting them Tuesday..?? So I will let you know then..!!

I've got an integrated blake/blinker unit on the rear of the Crim frm Rated R. It plugged in and worked perfectly from Day1

yeah i got intergrated from Steve from Rated R also for my crim and flash rate was normal and worked really well!

i have got the led replacement indicators! heaps smaller!!!!

Dan, I decided to go with the fully integrated tail light.. no indicators hanging around at all.. it really looks sleek.. all built in.. and the flash rate is all fixed now too..!! The bike is almost totally finished now... all mods and pipe done.. just going to swap the stock air filter for the high flow one.. dont think I am going to change the throttle either for the race insert.., the stock one feels fine... Not much needed to change on the 08 ZX10.. almost perfect bike I reckon...!!
