KR250A Tandem

Post by Valheru70 »

Hey All,

have just picked up a project bike for rebuild , a nice little KR250A 1984 model. anyone have an spares laying around? I am chasing the usual spares like pistons, barrells, head gaskets, rings , the bike has been sitting for 12 years so I am rebuilding it to it's former glory.
Will post some pics later

Great bikes once you overcome the spinning bearings. The crank mains are punched directly into the cases and spin loose causing loss of compression, hard starting etc. There are a few guys about that can fix that. Serco in Brisbane have steel liners for the barrels, you supply new pistons and they set them up for you, you just need to use a one size larger main jet to off set the heat increase. You are then able to rebore for larger pistons, of course you can't buy over size KR pistons but the option is there to find something you can use in them.

I have a few plastic bits left and new indicators...
cheers.....
