PS did I mention REPLACE the switch
IME when the switch start playing up it is normally either siezed on the contacts inside are stuffed.. WD40 helps but only prolongs the inevitable....

A universal type switch can be brought from Coventry's Repco for stuff all . Sometimes you may have to adapt wiring but for the cost saving who cares ;)

you can adjust it. hold the switch itself and rotate the plastic nut. it might be screwed out and when you push on the rear brake peddle it's not pulling the switch piston. Needs to be tightened

it's not the igniter box as that is bolted on the right hand side (rear brake side) of the bike.I am putting my money on an alarm of some sort.

Just located an old Almanac........ It says it's a power enhancer......... you can double the bikes performance or alternately halve it....

It's works similar to morse code, so..... What you gotta do is.......
push the upper button three times, then the lower button three times, then the upper button twice, then the lower button four times, then the upper twice more and then both buttons together........give that a go....... just repeat in reverse to reset, or was that the other way around, can't really tell pages are faded in this old Almanac..... glad to help...
