Your first time, deliberate? accidental? painful?

Post by dutchy »

it'd actually be interesting to hear about everyones 'first time' making contact with knee to road i'd only guess some would be deliberate, some might be a surprise, others may have been painful.
I got thinking that it'd be interesting to hear about the first time people touched their knee scrapers to the bitumen. Thought there might be some good stories, maybe some funny one, maybe some shockers!!

For the rest of you expecting something different......SUCKED IN!!!
I plan on living forever..............so far so good!!

Turn 12 at Eastern Creek. Lent over till it hit then shit cause it did and pulled my knee up.... then punched the air all the way down the straight.
Got to turn 2 the next lap and did it there. After that every bloody corner I could. That's on the road to.

Turn 1 at Mondello park, on my firestorm. On my first trackday.

The track was wet but the organisers convinced us that it'd be sweet to ride on .

Turn1 is a nasty right hander, and there was a big fook off puddle right on the apex.

I came into it a little bit too quick and scraped knee and boot in one go, shat myself and crawled around for the rest of the session.

High street Reservoir now that was a really bad corner just after Edwards street out the front Of KFC/Caltex 9.5 years ago :(

Wasnt on a bike but in a small truck and my knees hit everthing, yes it was accidental of course.

Circa 1983, on a 1974 Honda CB400 four. Mid winter, 6.30 am hopped on to go to work. 1st corner is 100 metres from the house. Cranked it over, hit ice mid turn! First the knee, then the elbow, then the shoulder. It was at this point that I realised I had crashed and let go of the bars!

real knee down though........mmmmm I wasn't sure if I remembered, but it just came to me.
Circa 1993, Mallala raceway SA. riding my brand new FZR600 with Michelin A and M 59's, turn 2. I was wearing walden Miller leathers, which had no knee sliders. Came in after that session and had worn a hole through my leathers, through the foam padding underneath (they never had armour back then) AND worn a hole in my knee!!! There was blood pissing out!! but I was having so much fun I didn't notice till the adrenalin settled and the buring sensation started to be felt!!!!

There are really only two questions in life. 1.Which way do i go? 2.What is the lap record?
