Hi There... my first post so forgive me if this has been covered elsewhere.

My ER6F (07) gets about 290kms out of a tank I reckon (calculated on fuel usage/dist as I still always zero my kms counter out of habit from my old ZZR250 days without a warning light)... so 200kms seems a bit low... my light comes on at about 240kms... I ride 80 kms round trip each day to work so even at 290kms I can only get 3 and half days before I have to fill up again!!! For a so called commuter bike I am surprised at the small tank..

Oh and is definately a manual fuel indicator as it goes off when you accelerate hard or go round corners.

(Ok now I have to try and remember why I even found this post in the first place and what I was trying to find out... :D )

The tanks are both 18.5 litres so i think that is average :)
My zzr was a 96 model, 16 litre tank, 320km per tank or thereabouts prior to putting the Megacycle can on, then dropped to 250 or so.

That wouldn't be riding harder to hear the noise, would it ?

Here are the details of my ER6N fuel consumption

Commuting (city) riding I get 14-15km / litre
Long ride mostly highway, I get up to 22-23km / litre.

The best way the measure your ER6 fuel consumption is to take note of how much petrol you need to fill the tank. Then divide the number of kms you have done since last fill up by the no of litres.

I even have a spreadsheet to record the details for each petrol fill up to get the average.
You need the average to even up the effect of the different ground level every time you fill up.
I know it is a lot of recordings but this way I can monitor the performance of the engine and the quality of the petrol and petrol pump as well.

My overall average fuel consumption since I bought my ER6N is 17.73Km / litre (city and highway riding combined).
That is 24,314km out of 1,371.58 litres of unleaded petrol (91).

Based on the above you are doing well. I would say that this figure is equal or better than scooter fuel consumption. But this could be misleading. Simply because ER6 fuel consumption COULD NOT be equal or better than the scooter.

The more accurate way to tell your fuel consumption is to:
Divide the number of kms you have done from your last full tank by the number of litres to fill your tank again.

This will give you kms/litre consumption. This is more accurate than using the fuel warning lite method.
