ZZR600 200k per tank on average
Z750 220k per tank on average (400k per week commuting, 150k riding for fun, occasional 500k trip up Putty or Down Kangaroo valley.
The tanks are both 18.5 litres so i think that is average

Re: ER6F - Fuel economy
HI ZZRCHIKKY - if the F has the same size tank as the N, it is 15.5 litres. Assuming you FILL the tank the yellow light comes on with 3.5 litres to go. My N averages 22 km/litre so the light comes on at around 260-270 km with a theoretical range of 330km (you probably won't get the last 1/2 litre). Cheers

You have loads of fuel left when your light comes on- take it from me.
Work out how much fuel you have left when you fill up (when the light comes on). Divide that by how many kms a litre you get and you will find you can go a LOOOOONG way on reserve.

Re: ER6F - Fuel economy
Maybe a Kwaka tech/mechanic could give more info, but I assume that the EFI has a fuel metering sensor that measures 12 litres (leaving 3 1/2 litres out of 15 1/2) and then the fuel light comes on. Do the sums when the light comes on i.e. kilometres travelled from last fill divided by 12 = average fuel consumption. Multiply ave. by 3 (litres left in tank) & you have the distance left before you start pushing.

I doubt the EFI does it, on my Z, if i put in mobil 2000 i get 20 k's less than if i put in mobil 6000

Re: ER6F - Fuel economy
No CHIKKY, it is meant to run on normal ULP i.e. 91RON - not premium. I have used both & there is no difference in either fuel consumption or perceived power.

Re: ER6F - Fuel economy
The fuel light definitely isn't triggered by EFI fuel metering 6maniac - how would it deal with you filling the tank up, or worse, adding 5 litres 'cause you're broke.6maniac wrote:Maybe a Kwaka tech/mechanic could give more info, but I assume that the EFI has a fuel metering sensor that measures 12 litres (leaving 3 1/2 litres out of 15 1/2) and then the fuel light comes on.
Exactly. There are tow threads on the board at the moment related to fuel efficiency, and no-one has actually posted how much fuel they have left after the damned light comes on (it could, in theory, indicate that you've used half a tank!)6maniac wrote:Do the sums when the light comes on i.e. kilometres travelled from last fill divided by 12 = average fuel consumption. Re: ER6F - Fuel economy
G'day Dave, following the time-honoured tradition of "Read the Manual", I've just referred to said manual which tells us that the ER6 has a fuel LEVEL sensor that indicates when there is 3.5 litres left in the tank!

Re: ER6F - Fuel economy
Based on the consumption figures I've been getting (over 30000 km) my sensor is pretty close to the mark - within 0.2 to 0.4 litres
