A) Bike riders (in WA and I think rest of Aust) have to have a restricted bike license first and then get an open license. Yes you can if you really want get your little bike license, never ride again for 12 months and get your open class and therefore still be inexperienced on whatever bike you like but that is unlikely. Yet any noob 18 year old can go and get a hotted up V8 or WRX, etc and go screaming around the streets with little or no experience whatso ever but apparently they are quite caapable???
B) I was reading (for some reason) the RIP notices on another bike forum. I was interested to see how many notices there were over the last few months. Now I can't be 100% certain but from what I could tell the last few deaths of forum members were actually from car accidents. And in general I believe you hear many more stories about the 18-21 yo that was driving/passenger in a high performance car that wrapped itself around a power pole much more than a MC rider that did something similar. Not saying it does not happen but young inexperienced (and possibly dumb) people will find someway to kill themselves doing something they shouldn't regardless of the laws... people make mistakes... some get away with it and have a close call and learn from the experience, unfortunately some don't. I think the raod toll is aroudn 200 in WA.. surely it should be pretty easy to find out/work out hany of those were riding a MC at the time and match that proportion to the number of cars v MCs on the road to see just how much "likely" an MC is to have a fatal accident. Then also look at the stats of how many MC accidents involve more than one vehicle/death.. as I would imagine most MC rider deaths occur as single fatalities unlike car accidents where passengars in the vehicle or other vehicles are also involved... maybe we should inforce a limit of one passenger per vehicle to reduce the likelyhood of mutiple fatalties in cars!!

C) MC riders are much more aware of the condition and safety of their machine... I can't remember seeing a bike that looked unroadworthy (well not including harleys!!

D) I would also like to see the stats on deaths of MC riders with bikes less than or greater than 600cc??? It is not like a 600 can't go fast enough not to kill you in a hurry if you are stupid or make a mistake... so how many accidents are there when the bike is going 220kph++ which a 600 can't do??
E) When we will the police get off their arses and actually go out into the world and do some real policing... stop trying to control people by remote control by using speed cameras and stupid policies or restrictions... get more bodies out on the road enforcing the road rules for ALL road users...
F) If I remember a flyer I saw recently smoking kills around 20,000 people a year??? So that is 100 times as many related deaths... if it was about saving people from dying then why don't they ban smoking 100% rather than MC's... you would save a shitload more lives!!! Make people get a permit to smoke and not issue any new ones... so people can't take up smoking but those already "hooked" can .. then in 20 years or so with no new people smoking the lives lost will reduce significantly as will the $$ and drain on the medical system.
G) I think I am going on a bit.... I mean how will banning MCs solve world peace and help the Kyoto agreement really!

P.S When will they get a damn spelllll checker for this!!!
