Vic gov invited this bloke over already about 2 years ago or so, the gospel according ot this guy is daytime runnng lights for all vehicles, wrb everywhere and of course no motorbikes, but of course this is Scandanavian so they get 6 hours of daylight on a good day, but ya reckon the gov't will think about that and compare it to Aus and our 16 hour daylight??? I bets not.

There was actually an article in one of the papers a year or 2 ago pushing for a total motorcycle ban in Australia, in the financial section, stating it was placing an extra burden on Australian taxpayers

What an absolute load of shit! Reduce the road toll by: Making sure all drivers can read and speak English (No more driving schools that teach you in your native language); make sure all taxi drivers have been licenced to drive in the country for five years before they can sit their taxi licence; ban the sale of cheap car tyres from countries that don't even remotely have Australian weather or road conditions (In the wet they grip like a 90 year old woman with arthritis); make it mandatory that if you fail any level of your licence when sitting it, be it practical or theory, you are never to be issued with a drivers licence, ever; once you reach 65 years of age you are required to resit your driving test every year until you are incapable of seeing other vehicles, judging speed and distance or controlling your vehicle. (At the moment this happens approximately 15 years before the old twats decide to stop driving)
If the minority are being endangered by the majority, TRAIN THE MASSES BETTER and stop trying to justify your bleeding heart, tree hugging, uneducated ideas which you have conjured up to make it seem like your job is actually important.

All that is needed to combat this these days is the right hippy do-good group getting onside with the environmental and congestion issues and how more people riding bikes instead of cars would ease this especially in peak hour commuting where most cars only have single occupancy.
Fight fire with fire, lets get all the hippy, greeny groups to ban cars on the road and make rush hour three priority lanes for motorcycles and one slow lane for cars and trucks, look at the roadtoll reductions with no cars to run us off the road! (okay I'm dreaming now)

Not dreaming as much as you would think. Top idea and well worth investigating. Pedestrians should also have rigourously drummed into their pea-brained skulls that it doesn't really matter if you had right of way, you're the one who ends up dead, paralysed, maimed or injured. Open your f*cken eyes and ears and remember that the road is for vehicles to drive on and you shouldn't be messing around with things that are big and heavy and made of metal. Cocks!
Think of how much better the road surfaces would be too if no cars were allowed...

Not to mention not being able to buy a bike, parts or accessories because the truck can't deliver it ;)

i drive a car too cos .. well its just easier to go to work, and pick up the shopping...

but yea i reckon they should make it cheaper to have bikes, and dearer to have cars.... and bigger cars more expensive too...

that way we might get more smaller cars oin the road..

Problem is every time this is tried, everybody turns up on bikes with all the emission 'garbage' removed from their exhaust and does envorinmently unfriendly burnouts.

What a crock... if anything they should be encouraging more bikes...

No more talking on the phone = less stacks
No more stuffing their faces while on the road = less stacks
No more smoking while on the road = less stacks (sorry if i offend - i'm reformed 8) )
Free's up road congestion
and cages would become more aware road users (you would think)

But who are we kidding - they dont give a shit about the road toll stats.. it's all about how many people they cant sting for revenue next year..
It all comes down to how you ride it.....

I think alot of motorcycle accident can be reduced if we ban cars from the road. They also hold up bikes around the twisties. But if the government has its way that's ok too, by 2010 600cc bikes will be as fast and powerful as today's 1000s, only lighter
