As for the OP gixxer.. I'm with a few other learned ones re I don't believe the stack is 100% his fault..

-For a starters , is it just me or is that rear tyre extraordinarily slick / glossy looking bar the centre strip only.. ie has some dumbass armourall'd it in the show room??? It has happened before!? Even a brand spankin stone cold tyre don't wash out like that at low rpm without the aid of a lubricant!!

-This guy has just brought the thing..Prob his first litre bike/new bike and proud as of it(like we all are with a new toy)To have it do that 30secs out of the showroom would make me shit too!!

-Show me one person who could honestly ride out any situation on a bike they've had for 30seconds unless your surname is Doohan,Rossi or bloody
Stoner!? That thing had serious rear grip issues !!

As for the last vid re burnouts.... Anyone standing over the front doing a static burnout deserves to get catapulted then smacked!! what a moron!!(obvoiusly hasn't heard tyres get sticky when they get hot!!)

Oh and tiptop rema tyre buff compound is designed to take the oily surface of the insides of tubeless tyres / tubes as an alternative to manual buffing in preparation for patch repairs..It also softens the outer layer of the rubber(.2-.5mm) to help promote the rubber cement adhesion..
It is almost identical in it's composition to say McCreery traction compound as used with drag slicks but the tyre needs to be treated every pass to gain any benefit.
As far as street bike tyres are concerned , personally I wouldn't bother myself..Just don't go 10/10'ths for about 100-300km.

That Glossy Surface is how most new bike tyres I have seen look? So I somehow doubt it's an armour all issue. New tyres ARE slippery remember.

You may not have the skills to handle a situation like that, however, I disagree that you need to be Mick Doohan to control it. I am sure Gos, Phil, Wattie, Madkaw and a few others with reasonable skills will also concur! It's called experience, and as Highlighted above, you even aknowledge the possibility of the rider being new to litre bikes or perhaps even new to bikes!

Disagree all you like, however ANY competent rider should be able to control such a situation. They are more tuned to what is happening and therefore recognize the signs before things get to the point where they actually ARE out of control!

i wasnt going to pas smuch comment in this thread.

about a week after i got the 10 i washed it and degreased the back wheel.
then went out he driveway and around the and of my street to turn around, gave it a bit, and almost enden up on my ass...
which wouldve hurt seeings how it was new, and i had boardies, ksrc singlet, and thongs on

degreaser is slippery on tyres... so is silicone spray!

it did happen quick, the poor dude didnt get much chance to save it, but i reckon if he was not trying to look cool, it wouldnt have happened.

I reckon I must be Giacomo Agostini, as I had the same thing happen to me on the nine not long ago, exiting (due to water restrictions) a drive in car wash!! The rear tyre was covered in degreaser, I turned into a main rd 10 metres from the car wash and cracked it open to get across in front of the onciming traffic forgetting all about the degreaser spread all over my tyres. The rear snapped out and yet i saved it??? Agostini for sure I must be! Hey Mick, fancy having a lash at the Oz champs with me this year> We must be shoe ins!!!!!!!!

ooh, can I join. My fun moment was when I took my FZ750 drag racing back in ole Blighty. Did a reasonable first run (12.95sec @ 104mph). Not bad for a 1986 model dunger that was 12 years old at the time. I thought there must be more in the old girl.

SO I got did a burn out in a patch of Kerosene (sp) to warm the rear tyre, as you do. Get the crowd stirred up with a bit of smoke etc, pulled the clutch and rolled up to the line. I was thinking, hold out the gears longer and the time will drop. I was aiming for low 12s. Christmas tree does it's thing with the colours, I build the revs, see green and drop the clutch. Fark me, the bastard went sideways. Apparently the rear should be kept spinning as you exit the Kerosene patch, otherwise it loads with slippery shite which stays there until you spin it off.

Needless to say, I saved it, ran the gears longer and still ran a 12.94 @ 103mph).
