SYD - Where should i go for servicing

Post by Vukie »

Hey guys,

Im due for a service and need to decide where im going to take my pride and joy. I used to go to Narellan Kawasaki as you guys on the forum here reccomended them but they have since closed down, can anyone reccomend one of the other sydney based dealers? I would take it to Flywheels as they are a sponsor but they are a tad out of my way and im not sure if they are open on weekends for servicing....

So unless its a landslide for Flywheels i was thinking either Aitkens or Kelen as i live out that way...

I bought my bike from Flywheels and had the 1000k service done there. They did it on a saturday morning for me.

I would recommend them but I suppose it depends on whether you want to travel that far.

I had the 12000 on the 10 done by Mick at Castle Hill Motorcycles. He's very good and doesn't rip you off.

You dont need to go to a dealer to keep your warranty, any licenced bike mechanic can service your bike and it wont effect your warranty. The only reason to take it to a dealer (in MY opinion is to try and get any warranty issues sorted), and as long as your as service book is stamped.
I take my bike to Glenn at All Fixed Automotive, he has looked after all of my bikes. The only time I went to a dealer was to get an oil pressure switch replaced under warranty on my ER-5 a couple of years ago.

hmm, its a shame Narellan is closed, I can't think of anywhere near Campbelltown.

It reminds me, i should get my bike in for a service, it's not had one since before i bought it.... which was uhm, about 18kkm ago. Having said that though, i have been doing the basics (though i admit i havent taken the tank off yet!!!!)

I take my bike to Kelens for all its services. My bike is far from new though. It is a 93 ZXR.
Ken the mechanic is also far from new and has shit loads of experience and he always seems to take care with the little things like not scratching the shit out of the paint with tools.
That is a regular problem with alot of mechanics. They are good at what they do but don't take any care for the bike they are working on.

On Two Wheels is now the Kwaka dealer for Campbelltown. Haven't had any dealings with them though. I take my bike to Campbelltown Motorcycles in Blaxland Road good guys, tell them Eric sent you, they also have the dyno there if you want to go the whole hog on getting the bike running properly. :D :D :D :D

Did a quick ring around to a few dealers for the 6 month service on a ZX6R:

Kelen: $200 + parts
Aitkens: $255 + parts
Flywheels: $500   - the 10% memebr discount is still $450

Yea any dealer around central sydney City will be much more expensive than in the outer suburbs...

Check out http://www.budgetbikes.com.au" target="_blank

401 Hume Hwy,
Yagoona 2199 NSW

They did my tuning, major service, shimming etc. Forgot the Guys name but its owned by 2 brothers who
were really genuine and did a great job.

Highly recommend them

Is the $500 for labour only or does that cover parts also???
