Premium for me and preferably 98 unless I can't get it. Not really fussed about which brand even the dreaded Optimax which I've always run at Eastern Creek and never had a prob. It has fouled a plug on a WR 426 though so who knows.
It's really all about standing around drinking Dave's beer.

When I was doing a lot of commuting I always used 95 - didn't need the extra bit of grunt from the 98 and $/Km 95 was better. The I used 98 when I went playing in the twisties.
Since I stopped commuting on the bike and have the 10 it's almost always has 98 in it, except where it's not been available. (2 tank fulls in 4000k)
I steer clear of Shell, prefer BP but use Mobil as well

I use high-octane in the 10 because that is what it is designed to take. Like I said in the other thread, the GPX250 doesn't have the compression ratio and timing for high-octane and will run just as well, or most likely better, with regular unleaded.
The old Z650+ has regular in it for that reason.

Nope, the 98 stuff...I took the poll to be referring to Unleaded(93), Premium(95) and High-Octane(98 ). The 10 is designed to take a minimum of 95, so for 98 is playing it safe. It is a much more highly tuned engine than a GPX250 or the Z650+.Stereo wrote:You talking about 100 octane? ....and don't make me pull out my graph of my logs showing fuel economy versus octane rating used
