Thinking of batting for the other team...
Yeah, I'm definitely buying second-hand. Never been a fan of buying new - lose way too much value just by rolling the bike (or car) out of the showroom. Better to let someone better off than me wear that cost!Johnnie5 wrote:servicing on the Aprilias is not too expensive, they pretty much have a major item in every service so every service is round the same cost
only prob is Aprilia values just about halve when you roll it out of the showroom , they just suck in retaining value
find one used and you would do fairly well
Dude, most expensive service on my 06 RSV was $350 AND that included 2 new sprockets!deafwish wrote:FARK YEAH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
If you can afford to SERVICE it, buy it!
Is the pants of the naked/ sports bikes!
Service costs are NOTHING like the Ducs as the cams are chain driven not belt driven.
There are LOTS of power/bling mods for them.
Plus you get things like radial Brembos, braided lines, dry sump, rear wheel driven speedo (change sprockets without speedo going out) and a race map already built into the ecu.
And that's not true - guy over here sold his 06 and only lost $4k on the sale after 6 months. He was selling because he was building a new house.Johnnie5 wrote:servicing on the Aprilias is not too expensive, they pretty much have a major item in every service so every service is round the same cost

They're an AWESOME bike and it'll sound even better with some Leo Vinces/Tigcrafts/Smaltmotos/Arrows/cored cans.
It's up to you, but I'm still loving my RSV. And if you get one, change the gearing -1/+2!
No 'if' anymore guys, I've got one. Rode it back from Adelaide and got it registered just yesterday. Pics will be up when I clean up the bugs from the trip back!
She's a Red 2003, Leo Vince pipe, airbox enlarged, chipped, 1 down on the front sprocket (might up the rear when it needs replacing, see how we go). Sounds horn and goes really hard - freakin scary! Wheelies all over the shop, and I suck at wheelies.
So come on, pile on the shit!
