Brake pads (front)

Post by javaman »

I just found out that my front brake pads only lasted 8k  ... The 'Ferodo' brand would cost $110 for a pair. That's bit exxie for me atm.

What are the cheaper alternatives ? At the moment I just fitted the old pads which still have 1mm left on it.

$110 sounds about right.. i think.. maybe $110 for the 2 pairs..

I've run EBC a couple times, needed a set ASAP and could only get SBS's... I don't really like them to be honest.. EBC's were much better.

I used goldfren carbon ceramics on my last go and do recommend them they are lightyears ahead of the ferodo sintered ones i used last go.

They are silent and seem very gentle on the rotors and i can make the whole front tire squash flat into the bitumen should i have to stop in a hurry and the best part was 33 bucks a side.

Yeah Go the EBC HH

I used a set of SBS Sintered. Took them off after a few weeks. I didn't like how after a few endos they would go off.

EBC HH. Have you on the nose all day long.

My SBS seem hard or something.. but on a track day they seem ok, cause I get them so hot, but I think that has caused them to go abit funny.. more bl00dy money!!!

Just shopping around ebay and found $55-ish including shipping from the US :D ...

In the old days I used to buy clutch pads and stick them to the brake pads. It works fine but not in the wets. Not sure I want to do it on a 600cc machine though (albeit keep thinking about it  )
