I was riding home the other day and there was a guy in a dianese jacket, helmet and gloves on his bike...
I thought "squid"
but then realised the only diff between him and me was the fact that I was wearing office slacks... not shorts.... dont think that would do much to protect me.... and neither will jeans really...

Last couple of nights, I have been out for an evening putt, just in a T-shirt, fingerless gloves, trackie pants and runners with no sox
Very little traffic about, and I really enjoyed the ride...........because I was riding s-l-o-w-l-y (well, relatively
), and it was just too bloody hot to get all dolled up for a 5-minute squirt over to ProblemChilds for a quenching B&C !!
I feel so naughty........someone better get over here with a whip !!

breeding is about the only thing that should require a licence.nahima wrote:saw one the other day with a kid on the back in shorts and T-shirt sitting astride the slab of beer strapped to the back of the bike...it's ok to be stupid but please don't breed or we'll never break the cycle...Mel wrote:I've seen plenty of times the adults geared up... and the kids with no gear...
Sure kids gear is pretty hard to find... but it IS out there if you look hard enough.

Once when I was riding my bicycle to school I low sided at about 10 km/h or less (damp road and trying to turn where the sidewalk meets the road) in my school pants. I'd imagine they're similar to office slacks. Yep, they're useless. It was pretty much straight down without sliding and it still tore a hole and made me bleed.Stereo wrote: but then realised the only diff between him and me was the fact that I was wearing office slacks... not shorts.... dont think that would do much to protect me.... and neither will jeans really...
Squids should think back to their childhood days whenever they think a "slow" 50 km/h ride is safe.
Yeh... my freind squided and learned the hard way... came off his NSR on a corner. I still squid it occasioanly with a shirt and shorts accompannied by thongs.
Only round my very small town though, I always get in full kit if im going for a proper ride or somewhere for a reason.
