Without a legal reading of your speed, they technically cannot prove you were speeding I dont think? Anyone here know different?
Pretty sure they need something to say you were speeding. Not sure if their word is enough, without the technology to back it up.

Speeding were you? How much? How do they prove it? If the cops think you might have murdered someone but they can't prove it, do you think they will just charge you with manslaughter in the absence of evidence? Case dismissed Baby!! If they obviously can't prove how fast you were going, how can they charge you with speeding? What speed do they settle on?87Ninja wrote:I doubtthey will drop the charges all together i was still speeding way over the limit, we are just softening the charges down a bit
"Well look sir, we know you were speeding but we can't prove it. Would you mind if we booked you for a lower speed? We just need to get some money out of you to keep the roads safe."
Tell them to take a jump unless they are going to drop everything. They can't let you go to court and prove their radars are faulty. That will set a very expensive precedent.
If a man says something, and there is no woman there to hear him, is he still wrong?

Dear Greg letter coming soon I reckon, sorry Greg, we fucked up, we know your bike can't do 183 and so would you perhaps settle for say... 160? I mean it was a windy night remember and that jacket you wear looks markedly like a sail from where we sat....
A good mate will bail you out of jail, a true mate will be sitting in the cell next to you saying "Damn, we fucked up!!!"

WHAT A CROCK OF SHIT
Another 3 weeks why can't they just admit it, ok you "MAY" have been going over the limit but the camera isn't that acurate, so the gave you a lesser charge, oh please. Toss the case out of court all to bloody hard Greg buy them some of those Krispy Creames on the way next time. TO THROW AT THE JUDGE IF IT DOES NOT GOT THE WAY IT SHOULD:!:
My son does it and it works for him
Best of luck dude and keep us informed

I tried the open palm gestures and remorse approach at a appeal once and your way better off attacking the credibility of there stuff/evidence if you can becuase once they know they have the last word they will give it too you up the arse big time.
And in my case the clown didnt know what he was talking about but i do have a prodigous record I think it fills A A4 box. lol
So much for being polite.
You might get lucky I have seen those letters of withdrawl before where a couple of young coppers in a divy van tried to estimate my speed and at the same time i estimated what theres had to be to do a u turn and catch me at that suposed speed.
I just dont have the time to defend it generally but some are fair enought too.
goood luck walking sucks.

If I rode my bike at the speed of light, what would happen when I switched on its headlights?

don't we have double jepoardy laws in aus? Can't be tried for the same crime twice. Charge him with 183, failed. Ok, charge him with 160! I don't think so. They lay a specific charge, then have to prove you guilty beyond reasonable doubt. Your dyno sheds enough reasonable doubt to throw out their evidence, and so the case is dismissed.

Good luck mate - with some small amount of luck the judge will laugh this all the way down the courthouse steps
Out of curiousity - if they wrote a ticket for 183, its proven the speed wasn't 183 - won't that make the ticket....invalid (for want of a better word)??
So, that ticket is invalid and doesn't count - there aren't any MORE tickets so....wouldn't that be it?
Its like if they write the wrong rego/bike make on the ticktes - the ticket is wrong therefore it doesn't count?? Big boys rules - one chance only.
