Ahhh this brings back memories.Only you older types will remember some of this stuff.Helmet,an Arai with press stud visor,it was a pain at traffic lights as the visor didnt swing open.Jacket was a mars leather, they are still around and its seems their styling hasnt changed much, lol.
Gloves where the old red and black fur lined dents, they were the gun glove to have in those days, although they were that thick you had ne feel at all in them.Boots, the old fur lined rossies, another classic.
For touring i had this ex army tank suit,it was warm, reasonably waterproof but weighed a friggen ton,and my 1st road bike was a kawasaki S2.For those that are too young to know,it was a two stroke 350 3 cylinder screamer, son of a mach 3.

Shoei Helmet .. bought it used and it looked it .. no safetycrats in the 70s
Brando style leather jacket. .. also pre-owned
Leather gaunlet gloves .. no particular brand
Jeans .. whatever pair was semi - clean
Boots .. RAAF Firies type or the zip up GP boots. (I got em for nuthin)
Used to wear flying gloves inside the leather gloves, trackie dacs under the jeans and a Bulldogs scarf wrapped around the face and tucked into the brando jacket in winter.
I got caught out in Traralgon one winters night and had to nick a newspaper to line my jacket and the front of my jeans to keep off the hypothermia......
AGV Quasor lid (too big but free with bike)
AGV Gloves (also free with bike)
Brando leather jacket (NO armour, better than nothing)
Rivet leather pants $80 secondhand meant for someone much shorter and smaller than me, always a hit with the ladies.
Steel cap boots issued by work.
That was it, thankfully i waited till i had better safety gear before i started crashing bikes.

circa 1977, John Frith boots, Levis jeans, levi denim jacket with the sleeves cut off, badges sewn on by me (Oh crap another one's flown off), a bell open face with the liner and polystyrene foam pulled out, I found the helmet at the dump and washed it then painted it with a brush and some black auto body schutz, that stuff is the sticky black crap they used to paint your boot and wheel wells with to protect it, still remember the bike too, a GT550 Waterbottle, totally stuffed suspension, smoke pissing out the back, oil leaks and I bought it for $175 from magnum motorcycles on Main North road Adelaide, came with rego too, man I was a proud 16 year old biker in those days, just grinning from ear to ear.
Les
