Cath

I'm sure I could get you down there. Bring your gear if you plan on riding it home, and there's always a spare bed if you need a place to stay.

HAHAHAHA! Great pic

Firstly, I am completely overwhelmed by the offers of help (lifts, accomodation, preliminary tyre-kicking, etc) by PM and in this thread. Truly overwhelmed! Thanks so much... makes me feel all warm and fuzzy and community-minded!

Thanks for all the info and advice too!

After dispairing of finding anything local, I have just today found a bike up here that I think might be the one (shhhhh, don't want to jinx things - will find out this weekend). If it falls through, I just might take some of you up on your offers and get someone to check the bike out first for me. The plan will then be to fly down, get to Mt Martha, then ride the bike home. (Or I'll get it sent up here by freight, but that's not as much fun)

i'm sure you would be able to find something in syd

in reality that bike is at least grand or so overpriced plus your flight , travel, rego etc

even more so on the 1 year orphan zx6

Johnnie, you're probably right, but up until a few days ago, there has been a serious shortage of decent 6's with low k's and at reasonable prices. I need a bike to get to the GP which is fast approaching and I was starting to get a little desperate. I've also been considering a bike at Bendigo

A typical example would be talking over the phone about a bike, being told that there was a minimal scratch from the bike falling off the stand. Travelling 80k's to see it, and finding out it has major damage and a repair job that lacks any substance. So, there goes half your Saturday morning, essentially another weekend of bike hunting wasted, if there isn't another bike anywhere nearby that you've lined up to look at. It gets frustrating and you start looking further afield.

Anyway, as I said "until a few days ago". I think I've found my next baby, so Victoria might have to wait until GP-time 8)

"Just in case" ....

Here's a link to the Airport Shuttle Bus Site ..

http://www.fapas.com.au/

... it'll get you from the airport to Mornington which is right next door to Mt Martha if you need it. (Like one or two others here, I also live at Mt Martha)

Good luck with it all .. yell out if ya need more help.
Cheers,
