I kept my last bike and use it to commute to and from work etc...

Spent a fair amount on it keeping it maintained, upgrading most of the bike as time past.

I found it cheaper to run and maintain than the new one, but the biggest prob. is..... you always wanna ride the new bike instead.

I think i just need to buy another 12.

Well I-K, i'll just sit back and wait till mid season next year, I take it you've never sold to the teen to early twenties market, put a little spin on it and you can sell them ice cream with razorblades in it and they're happy to eat it, all because you told them it's so good for them, c'mon get real, obviously your not a salesman or not a very good one.
P.S. i'm not interested in getting into a shit-fight here either.

Mate, you obviously havent either, considering you're riding a zxr. I'm 23 and NEVER once bought a bike because they're winning in the superbikes or motogp!!!

man, that rossi must be a legend to have won the motogp on that honda spada i owned, the TLR i owned - yeah, Stauffer kicked ass on that and the zx7r - 10 years ago when it was a winner, wooh yeah!!! i was like 13.. thats why i bought it, so i could relive my childhood!!

There might be dickheads out there that only buy bikes because of that, but it never crossed my mind when laying down the cash for a bike, it's always, style, performance, handling, value for money, and if i really want it.

Why?

I can go and look at plenty of new 0km bikes for free...if you are going to buy a bike then you might as well enjoy every second of it!

Try 160,000kms

Post by Che »

My old 2000 zx12 has over 160,000kms on it!! Yes numerous rebuilds but I commute Goulburn to Sydney and return every day.Payed $22,000 for it before GST they offered me $8000 on a zx14. It's better condition now then when I bought it. So I just kept it cause I love it and bought a zx14 for cash. 8)

I decided the best way to ensure I don't lose money is just to buy something I'll never want to sell. So I bought my dream bike and have never looked back. It makes a great commuter and is great long distance as well as the twisty stuff. Once the engine wears out, I can just chuck in one of the many big bore kits to make it keeps up with the latest toy.
