Well those of you that know Chris and I well, will know we can’t pass up a bargain and/or a bike that needs some work
A guy Chris works with was talking about selling his 1992 ZXR750-J2 .. Chris came home and told me about it.. Well I just couldn’t get it out of my head and asked Chris could we go around and have a look at it

I was jumping for joy.. All we had to do is get it for a bargain Which we did WEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE
So we are the proud owners of Burt

So here are a few pics..

This is what it looked like before we started stripping it

Let the strip begin

Chris hard at work

Me hard at work as always

Back wheel off.. We also have taken the front off.. This is good as we can just take the wheels to the shop to get new tyres.. Just leave them there and come back later.. No waiting
Also we had to replace the rear wheel bearings.. That didn’t take very long at all.

We have to replace the head stem bearings.. We have to take it down to the shop tomorrow to get the bearing off the stem because we can’t get it off ourselves.. This is going to cost us a 6 pack of beer

We are re doing the forks because one seems to be weeping.. Although they did not pick this up in the pre roadworthy test.. But we might as well do it while the bike is pulled apart.. and then we know they are done

The chain will be off tomorrow to soak for a while.. The chain and sprockets are in pretty good condition

We picked up some really cheap fairings for it today

That’s what Burt looks like tonight
We also need a new clutch lever.. But I am really happy with our purchase

So Yeah this is our little project and a new addition to our garage.
