This has kinda gone off-topic but I guess we all have to realise that ZZRCHIKKY is still young (17) and is still learning in every respect so we will need to treat her as such.
That being said, I guess the difference with scooter riders here in SA (not sure about other states) is that you don't need to go through any rider training to get onto the road. Albeit our training here is skimpy compared to Q-ride, for example, no training at all is a massive disadvantage. At least we get some tuition on where to be on the road for maximum visibility... they are quite toy-like and whilst there are a few scooters that can pull themselves along, the majority are slow and noisy.. however whenever I see one, I do try and give the nod to acknowledge another person's passion for two wheels
If they're going slow, I'll just buzz past them... no real bother at all... in fact I don't think I can ever say a scooter rider has held me up. They're tiny - just give a wide berth (for unexpected maneuvers) and leave 'em behind

Scooters dont bug me per se. Scooter riders that think they're immune to road rash p me. Riders/drivers going under the posted limit dont. Only 2 things p me right off -
P-PLATERS AND TAILGATERS
Not everyone wants a full blooded motorbike. My sister desperately wants a Vespa (she's 49
). Chikky, a slow scooter annoys you, but your riding probably annoys some other motorist. Everything is relative, and no-one's perfect (although I'm sure most men will disagree with that last bit...)

scooters aren't a problem in brisbane, they sit in the middle of the lane and line up behind all the cars at the lights. I treat them just like cars though with a little more grace since I figure it would be hard for one of them to bump me off. The two wheels that piss me off are the boy racers who want to flash up beside you and show off their bikes, and get their front wheel inside one of my pipes in the process

well there everywere in townsville iv never seen so many scooters in my life !!! ( not even in a scooter shop)!
They scoot( ha ha ) around traffic, and drive in the ( large) carpark area at the side of the road ( in town ) and ride on the side , not far enough off the road but not far enough on either ( wich is rather dangerouse )

I really do not think that the guys meant that. I ride a 250 and I know quite a few of the male members that have a lot of time to help me out when I need it. I have found EVERY male in here to be very nice and accepting regardless of what I rideZZRCHIKKY wrote:i didnt espect to get tould im not a real member of this club because i only ride a 250 and dont like some sccoters !!!

Ok i've read some of this post but not all as most of it is bullshit
ZZRCHIKKY why do you seem to put Scooter owners into one lot
or is there only one up your way
yes i agree that some scooter riders may ride like the way you have said
but i honestly see more idiots riding larger CC bikes in some highly not recommended ways ....... but these are only temporary aussies and luck will catch up with them one day
We should be incouraging people to ride even if it is a scooter or a harley
the more that ride the better for all of us
And yes i own a Scooter just happens to be a Vespa
But i also ride a 10R ......
so should i say bloody 250 riders ........... i dont think so everyone has to start somewhere
