Funny "Vinnie's" scooter will hose ZZR250 's from the lights and is difficult to catch in traffic , even if you are on a ZX6 or a ZX9

i cant take scooters seriously - they look like toys to me and on the rare occasion i ride one i treat it like a toy too. (although i have never ridden one of the high end scooters)
the problem is that a lot of the people out on the roads riding them are riding them like toys as well so you cant really trust they they know what the hell they are doing.
i got no problem with people owning and riding scooters.
to me its like swimming at the beach - the more people swimming the less chance of me getting eaten by a shark.
they bring awareness of bikes to people who otherwise wouldnt give a shit.

I always thought the more people splashing around, attracts more sharks, therefore, increasing the chance of a shark taking a bite out of yaMrStompy wrote:ii got no problem with people owning and riding scooters.

agree. having been a scooter rider I have got used to the drivers going past me...fair enough...flat out getting to 60 you would expect it. One thing I dont like now I ride a bike is bloody 4WD drivers overtaking me in the same lane at 65km/r in a 60 zone!!! GGGRRRR...I hate cars, and try my hardest not to have to drive mine...thats the missus job.ZZRCHIKKY wrote:i disagree ! i think they anoy the shit out of car drivers more and there for when the car driver comes across a bike they treat it like a scooter and fuck it around!

What I don't understand is why they think they are invincable.
When was the last time you saw a scooter rider in any sort of proper gear? I pass a lady every now and then in the city in her suit jacket and skirt.
Do they think because they are slightly slower that they'll never fall off? That a car will never hit them? It's crazy!

I had a scooter once, upon seeing that it had footboards rather than footpegs a woman remarked "it would be much harder to come off on that wouldn't it"
I said, if I got hit from the side it's gonna make sfa difference as to what my feet are on. I think they're great in that at lest it's a few less cagers on the road, having said that, the dress suits and stilettos are really not the right attire for riding a motorbike/scooter.

i brought a scooter off a mate for $120 years ago when i was riding a 600 zuk, thought it would be cheap to run being 12 times smaller in capacity....WRONG.
Half the cost of the bike on fuel and 12 times as gutless...that and you feel stoopid riding along with your leather jacket, gloves and bling AGV quasor lid on a moped....
sold it to a chick for $400....she was stoked.

well syd =squids on scooters..
i hate them, there is no clutch,no power and yeh sure they are great for the office worker, but whats wrong with rocking up to work in full race leathers...
on a serious note, they are very dangerous, 1 they think thatthey wont ever fall off- wrong seen it the other week, ride unhurt, was the odd occasion that the rider was wearing gloves those designer leather ones, and pants and a designer leather jackect.and 2 they can hardly do the speed limit on any hwy or road where the seed limit is greater than 60km/h, now we arent talking about the aprillia scooters as they do have soem get up and go. but your everyday vespa, they shouldonly be allowed on city roads.
i spose some people just dont know what it really feels like to have the power between heir legs and would rather just sit on something which is gutless
