Re: Lithium batteries - anybody using them ?

Just replaced the lead/acid battery in my RS250 with lithium as acid spill wasn't attractive. Around $105 at Battery World instead of $65 - but so light. Needs to be recharged every so often (6 months I think) rather than trickle charged. Will do the same with the ZX10R when the current battery ...

Re: Upgrade from blackbird to 14

I had a Blackbird and decided I needed to move lighter and moved to the current series ZX10R. With an Airhawk cushion, it is a great long distance tourer and the gearbox is so flexible - more comfortable than than the Bird and stunning performance. If you don't need the wife on pillion, go for the ...

Re: Whats good for leather care?

I use Mothers Leather Conditioner which you can get from most car assessory shops. It's a cream which is easy to apply and keeps them really soft. I use it on my car seats and thought I'd try it on the Dianese leathers and been very happy with the result. I just wipe off any road splatter or dirt ...

Re: DNA air filter

Ron at Flywheels fitted one to improve breathing when I fitted the Akra and PCV and it works really well. Lesser known but probably better than K&N I suspect.

Re: Blood Donation over the new year

Need to watch what you say because blood donation scared the shit out of me and God decide to have a joke and I was diagnosed with a blood disorder that requires me to give blood every 3 or 4 months. It's an Anglo/Celtic disorder that means I'm the original Iron Man so Poms beware! Very North ...

It also explains why all those really flash rego holders have been sooo cheap in Sydney over the past 6 months.

I think the ties are nice. Send them to me if you don't want them. It's so hard to get retro headbands these days!

Re: New 2013 ZX10R

Crank the rear shock up full way first and see what happens. This is what the Kawasaki factory boys did for me after taking my height and weight and I haven't had to change it - not a demanding track rider mind you. Jonno and Maccarocks are the Gurus for the current series so listen to their views ...

Re: Akrapovic link pipe ZX10R

Hey guys- there's plenty of previous discussion on this topic if you choose to search. The good thing is Akra seem to be pretty competitive locally now so we can get local spec products such as link pipes and baffles without the risk.

Re: Where to buy tyres? Sydney

Ron at Flywheels at McEvoy St, Alexandria is pretty close to you and has just relinquished his Kawasaki dealership due to economic conditions and only runs the workshop now. He's a good mechanic with track experience. His prices are competitive - he won't be the cheapest but you get good service and ...

Re: Bell Helmets

Bell score well in the UK helmet tests and they're very competitively priced here - at least while they're building their market again. I tried them at MotoGP and they feel very comfortable. I'm sure you can get the $50 as a discount for cash and the local ones have a genuine Australian Standards ...
