Sorry, been away for a while!
Its not to difficult to do. As Mizz said, all you need is a hacksaw, drill and file. You can actually remove the fender to do this but it does take time to get it off. I did mine installed and it only took about 45 mins.

Kero and Diesel are effectively a very light oil. Hence kero being used as a cutting 'lubricant'. It has no 'cutting' or 'abrasive' characteristics at all. This is also why kero or diesel will be OK to clean o-ring chains. It won't have the tendancy to 'dry' out the rubber like petrol or alike. And ...
