What the hell is that?

Post by omen_child »

Can any of you ZX7R owners tell me what this is? It was mounted on the fairing brackets on the gauge cluster assembly...and it wasn't plugged into anything!

Looks like a Relay to me...

Perhaps something was moded/re-wired, and it was just left there..

Here's something for ya...tried to flash up the lights and found they didn't work. Tried to start it and found i can only start it with the clutch in and the stand up. Once started the lights come on and it'll run fine with the clutch out, but stalls when the stand is put down. And i still can't find that bloody plug. :x

back to the original topic, the manual doesnt explain what it really is but has a high beam relay near the healights, which i think thats what it could be.

ps its about right because you do need a relay for the lights and espcially the high beams.

Fixed.

You were right, it was a wiring issue, the weird thing is the previous owner had fitted another relay as well as that one (assuming it's a high beam relay). I did a little checking and found and fixed the problem, and removed the extra relay, to prevent further confusion.
