My old 12 pretty much had the same mods as yours. Exhaust, filter, PC3 with custom tune. I thought it went quite well with a fair bit of bottom-midrange but nothing compared to the 14. Unrestricted it feels like it has too much power (never thought I'd ever say that!).
If power is high on the list ...

Re: Test ride - VTR1000 SP2 and ZX14
Shifty, if possible, take an unrestricted 14 for a ride (with the secondary butterflies removed), exhaust, etc. Still the most insane thing I've ever ridden. I can't see a busa keeping up with one.
I love the 12 but I ended up replacing it with a busa. Seams to handle a little better and is a LOT ...

Re: Bike Transport Carrier
Picked up bike from Ceva Depot this morning. No issues what so ever. Really great to deal with and bike arrived in the same condition it left Brisbane.
I'd recommend them to anyone.

Re: Bike Transport Carrier
True, but the company regularly transport exotics so I figure it's worth a try, especially with the saving. I'll let you know more once the bike arrives.
Ended up settling on Ceva Logistics. By far the cheapest.
Guys with the transport the cheapest is not necessarily the best or safest, you have ...

Re: Bike Transport Carrier
I purchased a bike in Brisbane last week and getting it transported to Melbourne. I ended up spending a week trying to find a well price bike transporter. Ended up settling on Ceva Logistics. By far the cheapest. Most places were quoting me $500+ to transport from Brisbane to Melbourne. Ceva ended ...

Re: (not on everyones mind) FUEL CONSUMPTION ZX12
Now that the weather is a bit warmer and I'm riding my bike non stop again I noticed its fuel consumption jumped to 8L/100km, and that's just freeway riding! Its been sitting in the garage a few months without getting ridden, so I guess that doesn't help. I did a bit of reading and came across some ...

My 12 is teaked and has a custom map. But it's nothing compared to a tweaked 14. Tell your mate to remove the secondary butterflys on his 14 then compare

Re: ZX12 - 2000 vs 2002 what's you fav?
I've only ever ridden my 12 and never thought I'd want anything different till I took a tweaked 14 for a spin. It's the only bike that's really made me consider buying something different. I agree with blue on this.
Now my brother's threatening to buy a 14 as he knows I can't afford one.

Re: zx12r hp at the wheel
When my A1 was completely stock it made 158hp at the wheel. Not sure on the dyno, would have to find the print out. IMO if it makes below 150hp there's something wrong with the bike! I've had it on two other dynos and it always makes over 160hp (slip on pipe and PCIII).

Re: ZX9R Fairings??
Thanks for the reply Dave, the reason I'm asking is that I was looking at buying a beaten up one that needs some panels replaced.

ZX9R Fairings??
I'm thinking about getting an older 9 (1998) and wanted to know if the later model fairing would fit, ie: 2000 onward. Anyone tried this?

Re: Test ride x2 bikes today
How's that? Nobody had any real evidence to prove our claims to be false. All it showed is the 10 owners are a winy bunch of girls because their bikes have no midrangeBenno wrote:But you and wisc were made to look like douches

Re: Test ride x2 bikes today
Be careful Saki, 10 owners get very upset when you mention the 9 has better midrange
I have to agree with you as both me and Wisc found the same thing.

Re: ZX12R Fork Oil
Thanks for the responses. I think I'll go with the 5W as I mainly ride to work and back. I do the odd bit of 2 up riding now that Kristy's bike is sold.
