so when i stick on a new system does the jetting need to be done straight away or can i ride it but it will just run like shit? i was under the impression that the jetting needed to be done as the bike would run lean and lead to engine damage or something like that...

raffiki, sounds like a crook battery to me. Sticka new one in and you'll probably find that it will be ok.

I like my Crusty old Valiants. As long as the lights and basic safety bits work (brakes etc) I do not have too much problem with it. It has often been all I can afford, and things like a bit of rust or bad paint etc (not hideous structural cancer mind you) I couldn't care less about.

i have a pair of m and they did a fantastic job on my trip to canberra waterproof-wise. The only weakness was it does let a bit of air through despite being 100% waterproof. That was remediated with a GOOD soaking with some aqua-proofing from k-mart (any camping store will have it)
