Cables

Was going for a spin yesterday and called it off after 50 odd K's. I seemed to have to much freeplay with the throttle so I pulled up to adjust the cable and promtly busted the adjuster!!!! (note- do not use pliers to adjust cable). So I head home and call in to my mechanic , after he pulls the ...

Re: Bike insurance

Currently I have Third-party Liability at $144 a year, with an excess of $400 from Maxirider ( Swann). I'm going to look for full insurance for next year, from previous threads I understand agreed value and a list of the many mods on the Rex is the way to go. :kuda:

Re: ZX7R wont run. Help please!!

May i suggest you use something like brake cleaner as it evaporates away to nothing (which is why it's used on brakes) and spray it down the ignition for it to flush all the old lube out of there. The get some graphite dry lube and give the ignition barrel a little squirt, followed by putting the ...

Re: Fine tuning.

Cruisers are fun, until you need to approach a corner.

I don't know if I'd put a ZRX in the cruiser category. :?

Ezza, a lot of us flip the eccentrics or jack up the rear shocks to get the arse end up and sharpen up the steering a bit rather than dropping the front, but I found it improved ...

Fine tuning.

Seems like winters hit us early this year, :( so after having the forks on the rex serviced I've only managed a quick lap around the Island. When pulling the fork-legs out for the service I noticed they'd been set up 5mm through the top clamp. dontknow.gif On reassembly I set them up level ...

Re: general servicing

[Once out of warranty I'd do minors ie Oil, Filters etc myself and get a good mechanic eg Allfixed to do the majors ie Valve clearances.[/quote]

That's exactly what I do, not only do you save some dough you get to know your bike. Slowly you get the confidence to do more and more yourself.

Re: general servicing

If you get a K/N filter get the cleaning kit for it at the same time ,you can save money with these filters ,as for the plugs the hand book will tell you which one.

Re: Leaky fork on the Rex

All good sofar - everything is apart. Cause of oil seal failure - crud under the dust cap, must have worked its way down.

Anyway, waiting on Racetech springs.

In the meantime, thinking about reassembling. There are 2 copper/brass bushes each side which the Kawi manual says must be replaced. Is ...
