The problems are now all fixed.
The carburettor vacuum hose required re-sealing and re-tuned.
The chain, sprockets and rear brakes were replaced with new parts.
The front sprocket is reduced by 1 tooth and rear added 3 teeth, to increase acceleration from 1st to 6th gear and a much quieter ride ...

ZZR250 Problems a plenty
I have asked this question some time ago in relation to the 3-4k revs flat spot.
1st, I have carried out the following since:
Emptied and cleaned the fuel tank, drained both carbies a couple of times, used a bottle of carbie cleaner during the course of three tanks, without much change to the ...

Re: No low beam, high beam no probs??
Is the filament the whole light or only partial? Can it be bought from a Kwaka shop or any speed shop or as the third reply suggests the whole light component?

No low beam, high beam no probs??
Need assistance to fix this rather simple problem, the low beam light is not working however the high beam is. The fuse is ok but the low beam is in the blink. Can you advice on a fix apart from the obvious replace the bulb or bulbs. If it is really that simple, how do I remove the bulbs from bike ...

Re: ZZR 250 Carby Drain
Good morning,
Having read your suggestions and advice I decided to do another carby drain. There was no foreign matter this time so I have decided to leave the carbies fitted and run some carbie cleaner through.
I do appreciate your help on this matter and in the meantime I will do some research ...

Re: ZZR 250 Carby Drain
Thanks for your advice, I am now wondering how much would it cost for a mechanic to do everything you have suggested fit a Ninja kit. The Carbie Ninja kit inclusive of the time to fit is $400-500. Remembering I am not confident enough to do this myself, sure I would be able to remove the carbs ...

Re: ZZR 250 Carby Drain
Daisy, I drained both carbies last weekend, small splinters of metal and other foreign matter was drained. Still not satisfied I decided to drain the fuel tank and clean it out with Kerosene. Whilst taking a closer look inside the tank I have noticed small particles of brown stuff, possible rust ...

Re: ZZR 250 Carby Drain
Thanks Daisy I will give it a go and attach the plastic tube to the nipple as suggested. Just to make sure is the nipple the little piece pointing towards the gearbox?

ZZR 250 Carby Drain
Can anyone help me to confirm how the carbies are drained. Do I remove the Allan keyed screw at the bottom of the carby to drain the contents and any rubbish collected there, or is there another location?
Your help will be appreciated.

Re: ZZR 250 Fuel Range
My bike is standard ZZR250 1993 model. I ride regularly to and from work totalling around 80 Kms a day, my average tank range is 350 before reserve. I use unleaded fuel and 10 mls of Pro-Ma Petrol Treatment, that seams to work a treat.

ZZR250 Small but nice
This bike I bought about 6 months ago and was astounded to see it had only done 18k kms, and definitely needs some TLC. A few problems sorted, clean the chain, purge the tank, tune the carbies and a good clean and polish. Not a bad bike for 15 years old.
