Re: ZXR250C - Engine Mods

Have you got any of the special tools to pull apart the lower end e.g. rotor puller or clutch basket holder?

Re: bore kit for a 250

What does putting a ZXR400 engine into a ZXR250 involve? The engine in my 250 blew up, so I'm after another one anyway
Having the dimensions of engine mounts, output sprocket exhaust would be a start. Perhaps an engineering can-do attitude may help. Try Google

Re: ZXR250 basic questions

mine does the same thing into second, but it can be avoided by shifting below about 11k rpm. my guess is worn selector forks from the fat wanker who last owned it trying to do wheelies.

as for an oil filter, you can use hi-flo HF303s. they should be $10-15. if you're in sydney, metropolitan ...

Tool to Adjust the Rear Shock of a ZXR250

Does anyone know what I'm looking for? A few posts around the place have suggested a C-spanner for other bikes (CBR250s), but will this work for the ZXR shock and which size do I need? Thanks

Re: What Next? [ZXR250A 1990]

Couple of things to do:

Take the throttle off completely, and lube the bar, inside of the throttle tube, and inside of the actual throttle housing as well with wizards piss. Sometimes if any one of these 3 components is a bit dodgy, you won't get a smooth throttle action or return. You can squirt ...

Re: What Next? [ZXR250A 1990]

Well you were absolutely right when you said that removing the carbs was no insignificant task. new_shocked.gif

I took the airbox off with ease and sat staring at the bike for the next 30 minutes trying to figure out where the manifold clamps were. After another 15 minutes of head scratching ...

Re: fitting an alternator cover onto a zx2r

If you find that you need a new gasket, one can be had from Metropolitan Spares for about $10.
