OK, once again thanks for the input guys, the bike is definitely now classified as a total loss, the claim is going though in the next week or so.
I lost the bloody green slip that came with the bike, at first I thought that the insurance company wasn't going to process because of it :shock ...

Re: What will happen to my bike after a smash ....
A dent in your frame may not cause the Bike to be written off, i had a lowside on my ZX6 and the handle smacked into the frame causing a small dent. They just filled it and resprayed as it wasn't structural.
Well that's mental, never thought they would pass a frame with any form of dent.

Oh and thx for the well wishes, my shoulder is a bit stuck (Rotator cuff I think) but it's an aggravated injury from another time.
My arm copped something sharp trying to stab me through my leathers, got a funny lump but the swelling is going down
I miss my wheels already .....

Re: What will happen to my bike after a smash ....
Well I called that number, and he told me the best bet is to go and file a P4 report at the cop shop :?
He advised he was'nt going to create an incident report due to the same reasons.....
No damage to any property other than my bike.
No one injured.
He said that the NSW cops have a reputation ...

What will happen to my bike after a smash ....
I had a smash on my 1996 ZX7R in the city today, a car did a U turn over double whites, and I smashed trying to avoid him.
Anyway, the guy driving the car was from Queensland, driving a rental car.
He accepted full responsibility / liability, and gave me his details.
I didn't touch the car, as I ...

Re: The towies broke my bike ......
Thx for that everyone 8)
Ah well, it's good to know what other people think on the subject, I was told once that if the bike gets strapped down hard until the forks are fully compressed, the extra movement from the truck going over bumps causes the seals to pop.
Does'nt matter now, I had a smash ...

The towies broke my bike ......
OK, so I get my bike picked up last Thursday, due to it blowing an oil seal, making it unrideable.
NRMA uses a contracted towing company to pickup the bike, on a nice hydraulic flatbed that goes flat onto the ground.
All good, then the bloke straps the bike down.
Get home, unload the bike, and he ...

Re: Major Oil Leak whilst riding - ZX7R
OK, I managed to get the seal ordered through Bikebiz in Granville.
For anyone wanting the same clutch rod seal for the ZX7R, the part number is: 92049 1017 (The bloke reeled off the number veeery quickly, but I am 99% sure it is correct).
Less than $7 !! :D

Clutch push rod seal........that's what i reckon it is.
Left hand side.....cheap fix if it is that as i had the same problem with my 7 several weeks back. It will appear you have lost a lot of oil but it is really bugger all just leaves a big mess though.
The seal comes out of its little slot it ...

Re: Major Oil Leak whilst riding - ZX7R
First place to check would be the crank case breather, check to make sure the hose isn't blocked and is still contected. After that check your oil filter another club member had a oil filter seal blow at PI last year. Other than that start checking for holes in the block ;)

Major Oil Leak whilst riding - ZX7R
OK, so I'm riding to work this morning, quite quickly 'cos I was running late.
I get to maybe 8 kms out from work, and find my rear brake is not working as it should be, take a quick peek behind me, can't see anything obvious.
Pedal pressure is good...
Another 3 kms down the road into a long ...
