Re: 1991 ZZR600 Idle level
1300 rpm plus or minus 50 (1250-1350) with the engine warmed up. If your choke slide is sticky it can cause a high idle and more fuel consumption.
Check that the choke is all the way off at the carbs, then adjust the idle down and see how it goes.

Re: ZX10R constant power loss
Have had similar symptoms on a carbed bike, turned out I had kinked the tank breather hose when putting the tank back on. Does the fuel cap suck air when opened after a lap? If not then your probably on the money with the fuel pump.

Air leak on the carb boots?
There isn't a seal on the pilot screw that got lost when you cleaned the carbs was there? I've had that trouble with dirt bike carbs before.

Don't be sad, think of it as the bike liking you and wanting to get more intimate lol.

Re: Hi from Newcastle
Welcome aboard! There's either a minimum number of posts, or moderator approval of you before pics will post. Sorry can't remember which. It'll happen soon enough lol. Nice bike, I've had my C1 for 8 or so years and haven't found anything suitable to replace it with yet lol.

Wish me luck!
Well after almost 4 years sitting in the shed, while I pissed about rebuilding the front end, the old 9 is in for a roadworthy check and all being good should hopefully be on the road, all legal like, by the end of the week! Yay!

Re: Starter Motor
Starter relay can cause that too. Like was said above, running leads directly from the battery to the starter motor will check whether starter or relay are at fault.
