Hi all,

My ZZR 250 was donw to 80 psi in the left cylinder. Turns out there is no clearnce between the rocker and trhe valve :( Time to reset the clearences,


Its a 2001 ZZR 250. does anyone know what the correct valve clearences are ?

i have a ZZR 250 which doesnt run well around idle. motor just dies when you open the throttle. when the engine is running ove 3 k rpm, motor revs fine.

I have played around with the idle mix screws , didnt make a difference.

The carb boots arent leaking.

any one got any advice? valve ...

I have the last of the 5 valve R1s,

They have 3 exhaust valves, so effectivly breathe better. more curtain area.

Good for turboing :D

I think they dumped the 3rd exhaust valve cos it didnt give any extra horse power. just extra drag in the vlave train hence reducing efficiency.

I find that it just happens.

I used to ride old 80s bikes, CX500, GS1100, GS1000 S

The CX500 scraped its pegs and would kick your foot off

GS1100 scraped the zorst

GS1000 S scraped the zorst then the engine casing, this caused the back wheel to lift off the ground, DAMN NEAR HIGH SIDED ...

Just finished year 12, and taking a gap year before engineering at UNSW next year.

I ride an R1 and drive a 205 GTi peugeot.

The R1 is a fairly stock 1998 R1. jet kit, K&N filter, slip on exhaust, (still got the EXUP valve), rearsets, damper etc.
