Thanks Col!

I've taken it to the dealer, it seems that it's related to heat, as it was quite hard to see at the time.

I'm going to take it in again when it's showing up.

hahahah

Well, it only shows up in direct sunlight, it's hard to get the definition with the camera.

And it's patchy, which is also strange, i.e. there's a little half circle maybe 4mm wide line under the tank cap.

Collette: if you read this can you comment please? It doesn't worry me too much, as ...

ZX6, Black - with BLUE tank!?

http://users.on.net/amckay/bike/blue_tank/

The images are sizey (200+K).

I'm going to send the same URL to Boltons to see what they think about it.

I hope you can see it from the image, pretty much the tank seems to have a weird blue tint to it in certain areas (around teh south edge of the fuel ...

HAHA The kidneys are just warning punches. It's when I pull over that the assault starts - I'm sure we all know the drill.

Dumb question:

Can you hook 2 mics/headsets into the one unit? This would be ideal and nice and cheap for trips with the gf (and she wouldn't have to communicate to me by kidney punches to let me know I'm going too fast)

Ahh sorry, it's an 06 ZX636.

Yeah, it does sound like it's hunting a bit if I have the right use of the word.

I might do that check with the kwaka boys and see what they think.

Yeah, mine still does that when it's stone cold, but it acts differently when it's nice 'n warm - or used to. I think I'm probably dreaming but I thought I'd pose the question anyway.

ZX6 - Weird idle

Hey All,

Just got my 6 a couple of months ago, just today it's developed a kind of.. lumpy idle. It's done 2800 k's and I regularly take it into the hills, it had its first track day last week and the WIMA pink ribbon ride this morning which is when it seems to have developed this 'problem ...

Was that you out there on the 15th bluey?

Some dude on a CBR2 fid was killing it out there... me and my mate were debating whether it was a 250 or had something bigger in there.

So, I guess it can be done.

not from wat i have heard, labouring helps bed those rings!

Fair enough, I guess we all hear different :)

The way I was told was to run it through the rev range, but don't labour the engine (by labour I mean 6th gear doing < 100kph)

But good luck to you ey and enjoy your new toy :D

to go up hills in 6th gear and pull hard!!! (for the purpose of running it in!!)

Probably want to avoid that.

Labouring the engine is probably worse than revving it a little more than what the book reccomends.

I just rode mine close to how I was going to after the break-in period was finished ...

Noice.

You ought to trash that fender though mate (imo) I did it on my black 06 ZX and it looks much better :D

What I did was hacksaw the whole part hanging off, remount the number plate at the number plate light holes, then modified the light slightly so it would still be usable, and fit it in ...
