Do a Revs check,that will tell you if the bike was a write off or not. That way at least you'll know and can look for other problems aswell.
Usually when you buy from Team Moto, they give you the revs check or that's what they did when I bought my bike from them. I still already done the check ...

What I did after 20 odd years out of the saddle, was go and do the licence course to get the basic riding skills back, and then after a month, I went out and did a braking and cornering course.

I need to replace the coolant in my Z1000, can you use the coolant that you buy from the auto stores and if so which one would be best.

Find a tyre that you think will suite your riding style, I've used powers didn't like them I like the Bridgestone 002 streets, but I don't get good kms out of them though, I trying a set of 016s at the moment, so far they aren't too bad.
Hoping to get more than 4000 Kms out of them, but I mainly do ...

There's 2 little dust seals on the bottom mounting point of the Z1000 shock, I just changed them for the ones on the ZX6r shock.
